MFAB on the scene: The 16th Annual #Cashmere19 Collection - Legends of Fashion

Top designers from coast-to-coast take inspiration from the world’s fashion icons to create Cashmere Bathroom Tissue (BT) Couture raising funds for breast cancer.

What a kick-off to October Breast Cancer Awareness Month with The Cashmere Collection fashion event! This spectacular events gathers some of the most talented and innovative fashion designers in the country. This year it is marking its 16th year and this is my second year attending.

On September 25th I got the honour to attend this super fabulous fashion event of the year - a star-studded, exclusive look at icon-inspired Bathroom Tissue Couture. This year’s theme was inspired by 16 of fashion’s most iconic legends such as Dior, Givenchy, Versace just to name a few. The incredible Joe Zee, an internationally-acclaimed TV producer, host and fashion expert, was this year’s mentor.

The event was held at The Globe and Mail Centre in downtown, Toronto. The décor was stunning! We were surrounded by a display of past year’s Canadian designer participants of The Cashmere Collection Shows. It is incredible that these runway-ready couture are all made out of bathroom tissue (real toilet paper!!!). These pieces are so beautiful I could stare at them for hours.

While waiting to get seated we were served fabulous food and cocktails. We even had an opportunity to strike a pose in the fun and creative Cashmere Photo Booth. It was amazing to support a wonderful cause and spread love to live in a world without breast cancer.

Walking into the runway room was an incredible feeling! The set-up was beautifully decorated all in white and pink. We were inspired by the personal experiences of breast cancer survivor “Bif Naked” and serenaded by her musical performances. And of course…the 16 talented Canadian designers who participated in the #Cashmere19 Fashion Show. All the designers did such an amazing and fabulous job!.
